01 · Problem

The challenge

The GjirafaMall App needed mobile push notifications as part of the wider shopping experience. This feature was delivered collaboratively within the product team.

02 · Approach

How I tackled it

I worked on the push-notification backend with guidance from my supervisor. A colleague handled the frontend with their own supervisor, and we collaborated across backend and frontend to deliver the feature.

03 · Outcome

What shipped

Contributed the backend work for mobile push notifications as part of the team delivering the GjirafaMall App. I also completed other backend tasks for the app; notifications were my main area of contribution.

Contributing to the GjirafaMall App

GjirafaMall is a Gjirafa product built by a collaborative product team. I worked primarily on backend tasks for the mobile app as a member of that team.

My main contribution: push notifications

Mobile push notifications were my main area of work. I implemented backend functionality using the C# / .NET and Azure stack, with guidance and support from my supervisor.

A collaborative feature effort

I worked with my supervisor on the backend, alongside a frontend colleague and their supervisor. Backend and frontend contributions came together to deliver the feature in the mobile app.

Beyond notifications

I also contributed to other backend tasks for the GjirafaMall App. The focus here is on push notifications because they represented the largest part of my contribution.
